Eternity Band

A band set with diamonds or gemstones that encircle the entire ring, symbolizing everlasting love.

Definition

An eternity band features a continuous line of identically cut gemstones (usually diamonds) set around the entire circumference of the ring. A full eternity band has stones all the way around, while a half-eternity band has stones on the top half only. Common stone shapes include round brilliant, princess, and baguette cuts. Eternity bands are traditionally given for significant anniversaries or the birth of a child.

Why It Matters for Ring Design

Eternity bands are a high-margin product category that serves as both wedding bands and anniversary gifts. They create natural upsell opportunities — from half to full eternity, from smaller to larger stones — and are an excellent way to re-engage past engagement ring clients for milestone celebrations.
